A Diagnostic Hearing Assessment tests how well you can hear sounds at different pitches. It checks both how sensitive your hearing is and how well you hear speech. It also looks at the function of your middle ear. These tests help determine why you might be having trouble hearing, which is crucial for finding the right treatment and care plan.
At In2 Hearing, we provide comprehensive diagnostic hearing assessments to adults and children 5 years and older.
If you are diagnosed with permanent hearing loss, we’ll explore whether hearing aids could help. We’ll recommend the most suitable type and model for you based on your needs, aiming to achieve the best outcome. When you are fitted with a hearing aid, you will have a trial period of four to six weeks to test it out. In addition, we’ll schedule regular follow-up appointments and provide ongoing personalised support.
At our clinic, we offer microsuction ear wax removal, which is a safe and effective procedure to remove excess ear wax without the use of water. It involves using a gentle suction device to carefully extract wax from the ear canal with minimal discomfort.
Tinnitus is ringing or other noises in your ears or head that aren’t coming from outside sources. It is more common among people who have been exposed to loud noises or have hearing loss. We start by assessing how severe your tinnitus is and how it’s affecting you. Then, we provide advice on how to manage it. If we find that you have hearing loss, we might suggest trying hearing aids, which can sometimes provide an effective way to reduce the symptom.
Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) affects how the brain processes and interprets auditory information, making it hard to hear conversation in noisy environments, follow spoken instructions, and remember what was said. In children, APD is often related to the developmental stage of the brain, leading to issues like unclear speech, confusion in noisy settings, and difficulties with reading, spelling and comprehension. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for helping children with APD. In adults, APD can result from aging, untreated hearing loss, or head injuries.
At In2 Hearing, we primarily use the Dr. Jack Katz's Buffalo Model for diagnosing and treating auditory processing issues for adults and children 5 years and older.
We fit customized, high-quality earplugs tailored for swimmers, musicians, motorcyclists, and individuals exposed to industrial noise.
